Cece Davis Gifford, RD, LD, CLT* founded Nutrition Consultants of Tulsa in 1978. A graduate of the University of Oklahoma, Davis Gifford is a Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics (CSSD) and counsels coaches, individuals and teams in sports nutrition. Davis Gifford is a Certified LEAP therapist (CLT) and provides practical management of the Mediator Release Test (MRT) in her practice. This test identifies food and food-chemical sensitivities related to chronic inflammatory conditions. Davis Gifford also specializes in medical nutrition therapy with complicated comorbidities, eating disorders, food allergies and celiac disease. She is a recognized leader in the dietetics profession, and has served in high profile positions in state and national dietetics associations. She is a member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and the Oklahoma Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. Davis Gifford has authored the e-book, Nutrition For People That Sit All Day. |
Connie Davis Bendel, RD/LD: OWNER and Registered/Licensed Dietitian with over 16 years of experience. Bendel has a Bachelor’s degree in Nutritional Sciences from the University of Oklahoma. Bendel practiced inpatient Medical Nutrition Therapy with critically ill patients at St. John Medical Center for 5 years. In 2010, Bendel joined NCT to focus on outpatient counseling specializing in gastrointestinal disease management, bariatric surgery, oncology and home nutrition support, to name a few. While at NCT, Bendel implemented a nutrition program at Oklahoma Cancer Specialists and Research Institute in which she cared for oncology patients for 5 years. Bendel has since focused on implementing Functional Medicine, an integrative, science-based healthcare approach. Her passion for Integrative Medicine focuses on prevention through nutrition, exercise, and supplementation (as needed) towards a holistic, personalized approach to health and chronic disease management. NCT utilizes Spectracell Laboratories’ Micronutrient Testing, the most comprehensive micronutrient analysis available, measuring functional deficiencies at the cellular level (vs. serum). In 2019, Bendel was honored to take over NCT ownership from her mother, Cece Davis Gifford who started the company over 40 years ago. Bendel hopes to uphold the NCT legacy and excellent patient care for years to come. |
Stephanie Harris MS, RD/LD: Associate, Registered/Licensed Dietitian with over 12 years of experience. She earned a master’s degree in Nutritional Sciences from the University of Oklahoma. Harris has enjoyed providing medical nutrition therapy in diabetes, cardiovascular disease, wellness and disease prevention in a variety of settings. She practiced Medical Nutrition Therapy for hospitalized patients-including the intensive care unit- as well as served as the Director of Food and Nutritional Services at Hillcrest Hospital South for 10 years. Throughout her career, Stephanie has taught a variety of diabetes and heart health nutrition classes, as well as features healthy cooking demonstrations on News on Channel 6’s Cooking Corner. Since joining NCT and working in a private practice, Stephanie enjoys counseling individuals and families and delivering presentations to schools, community groups and corporations. Guided by evidence-based practices, emerging research, non-diet approaches to weight management she has especially enjoyed working with pediatric and childhood obesity patients. As a wife and a mother of two, Stephanie understands the challenges presented to families to “eat right” in a fast-paced world. Harris is a member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and Oklahoma Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. and has served in leadership positions in her local dietetics’ organization. |
Marcia Curley, RDN, LD, CLT: Registered/Licensed Dietitian Nutritionist, Certified LEAP Therapist. Marcia brings a variety of work experiences to Nutrition Consultants of Tulsa. Some of those experiences include: providing one-on-one nutritional counseling; working with the national school lunch & breakfast programs; teaching Nutrition at Tulsa Community College; and facilitating workshops in workplace settings. She’s passionate about helping people reach their health and wellness goals. Marcia specializes in weight management, type 2 diabetes management, heart and brain health, food and fitness over 50, and chronic inflammatory conditions as they relate to food sensitivities. Using a “Food As Medicine” approach, she combines evidence-based practices with real-life experiences to help her patients achieve their goals. Marcia is a graduate of Oklahoma State University where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Human Sciences w/ a focus on Nutritional Sciences; and additionally, holds a Certificate of Training in Functional Nutrition. Marcia is a member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND), the Oklahoma Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, and the Dietitians in Integrated and Functional Medicine practice group of the AND. |
Kerri Rusher, RD, LD: Associate, Registered/Licensed Dietitian. Rusher received her Bachelor of Science degree in Nutritional Sciences from Northeastern State University. Over the past 6 years, she has provided medical nutrition therapy to a wide variety of patients in a hospital-care setting. Since joining NCT, Kerri is focusing on weight management and obesity related comorbidities as well as pediatrics and family wellness. Kerri takes great pride in her work and is dedicated to finding realistic solutions that fit the unique needs and challenges of each individual patient and their families in an out-patient setting. Beyond her professional accomplishments, Kerri is a proud wife and mother of two amazing sons. With her commitment to excellence and her caring, compassionate approach, Kerri is truly a shining example of what it means to be a dedicated healthcare professional and a loving family member.
